We provide a sense of community and advocate for LGBTQ+ elders. Our goals are to educate the general public, service providers, and the LGBTQ+ community about the unique challenges older LGBTQ+ adults face, to connect them to opportunities for support, and to create a community of older LGBTQ+ folks who socialize together, learn together, and look out for one another.
We envision a thriving community of older LGBTQ+ seniors people with access to resources and support to meet their social, advocacy, educational, and health needs in the Albuquerque metropolitan area.
Our mission is to provide support for older LGBTQ+ seniors in the Albuquerque Metropolitan Area through advocacy, social programs, education, support groups, and resource distribution. We counter isolation, fear, and loneliness by creating a caring community of LGBTQ+ elders who will look out for each other and share some laughs.
We refuse to be invisible!
Managed by a Steering Committee of typically senior LGBTQ+ community members, we provide social and educational programs to enhance the lives of senior lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, and other community individuals in Albuquerque and the surrounding area.
We have provided LGBTQ+ Cultural Competency Training to senior- serving organizations since 2013. The goal of this training is to educate the general public, service providers, and the LGBTQ+ seniors community about the unique challenges older LGBTQ+ seniors face and to connect LGBTQ+ elders to opportunities for support.
