Competency Training and Outreach

ORCA hosts LGBTQ+ cultural competency trainings and outreach events that:

Educate senior-serving providers in LTC settings on the specific needs of older LGBTQ+ seniors (LGBTQ+ cultural competency training).

Consult to improve in-home and facility-based services for older LGBTQ+ adults, as well as the friendliness of low-income senior housing facilities.

Engage other public and private organizations to support the delivery of high-quality services.

Community Involvement

ORCA volunteers attend community events, conferences, and meetings to ensure older LGBTQ+ adult issues are addressed and to educate broader communities on the important contributions of LGBTQ+ older adults.
